The Journey of
Ö. Ramiz Soylu
Born in 1967 in Çorum, Ö. Ramiz Soylu spent his childhood and youth in a land rich with the heritage of ancient cultures. Growing up in low-rise houses with gardens, he learned to share meals served on trays called “masaf” with neighbors and appreciated the comfort of floor beds at an early age. From a young age, he worked as an apprentice at his father’s fabric store during summer vacations, trying to unravel the secrets of trade and communication.
In his later years of middle school, he witnessed the painful events that unfolded in his city and region, experiencing firsthand the impacts of political, ethnic, and sectarian divisions. Through these experiences, he learned the value of family, the importance of keeping promises, and the essential role of love and respect in a community.
In 1984, his journey led him to Istanbul Technical University’s Civil Engineering Department. With the guidance of esteemed professors, he graduated in four years, becoming a civil engineer at 21, without burdening his family. He embraced the heat of construction sites and the dust of cement, dedicating his efforts to many projects.
From Eska to Yapı Ticaret, Dost, Sur Yapı, and Genom İnşaat, 36 years flew by. His humility didn’t hold him back in his career; he boldly took on over 150 projects, covering more than 6.5 million square meters in various categories. Each of his buildings has hosted life, created happiness, and earned him pride. Yet, whether in buildings or relationships, he never strayed from his principles. He treated everyone equally, from security guards to engineers, site managers to CEOs, recognizing the value of hard work.
Known for his meticulousness, he never gave in to lies or artificiality. Now, with his own brand, ‘RASOY,’ he has set sail on a new ship, venturing into unfamiliar oceans alongside trusted friends, leaving behind the well-known safe harbors. Their first stop was a paradise shore, where the scent of lavender mingled with the salt air—a fitting place for the launch of their new venture.
This prestigious harbor, where international award-winning professionals are set to leave their mark, has been named ‘Kaplankaya’. A fitting and elegant name for a promising future!
